Description: OpenSS7 Resources Donloads.

All OpenSS7 software package releases are signed with a 2048-bit DSA private key. In the following table, where a software package is listed as <package name>.tgz, the signature is in <package name>.tgz.asc. These are ASCII armoured PGP signatures. The public key necessary to verify the signatures for the packages is available under "Public Keys." When the public key has been imported, the package can be verified with:

gpg --verify <package name>.tgz.asc <package name>.tgz.

Also, all our RPM release in the RPMS directory are signed with the OpenSS7 software key. They can be verified after importing the key (as described above) with the rpm command:

rpm -vvK <package name>.rpm.

Please see System Requirements before reporting what appears to be bugs with these packages. For bug reports and feature requests, use our GNATS web-based system for reporting. You will find bug reporting instructions here.

Oct 31, 2008 0.9.2 Release G
This is another public release of the OpenSS7 Master Package. See README in the release for a sub-package listing. Most of the sub-packages in the release are production grade for Linux Fast-STREAMS. All existing validation test suites run clean on supported distributions and architectures.

The OpenSS7 Master Package is not released as often as the sub-packages. As sub-packages are released more often, to rebuild the master package with a new sub-package release, simply replace the directory to which the sub-package belongs with the unpacked sub-package release and then rebuild the master package. This release provides support for recent distributions and tool chains.

Major features since the last public release are as follows:

  • License upgrade to AGPL Version 3.
  • Modifications to build under Fedora 2.6.22.5-49 kernel. These changes also support 2.6.22.9-91.fc7 kernel. Modifications to build under Fedora 2.6.25-45.fc9 and 2.6.26.5-45.fc9 kernels. Documented lib32gcc1 problem on Ubuntu. Noted problem running under XEN kernels. XEN kernels are not yet supported. Added MODULE_VERSION to all modules and drivers.
  • Ability to strap out major documentation build and installation primarily for embedded targets. Improvements to common build process for embedded and cross-compile targets. Cross-compile fixes (strap out AC_FUNC_REALLOC macro when cross-compiling). Conversion of RPM spec files to common approach for major subpackages.
  • Build system now builds yum(8) repositories for RPMs and apt-get(8) repositories for DEBs. Installation documentation has been updated to include details of repository install sourcesref.
  • Higher performance and updated performance papers.
  • Updated tool chain to m4-1.4.12, autoconf-2.63 and texinfo-4.13. Support for flex 2.5.33 in maintainer mode.
  • Updated references database for manual pages and roff(1) documents.
  • Added the following major sub-packages to the master build (and release):
  • All of the major subpackages that are at production release have maintenance upgrades for new production kernels, distributions and tool chains. Many of the major subpackages have greatly expanded documentation and provide additional modules and drivers not previously available in public releases. Significant feature updates were made to: Please see the individual NEWS files in each of the subpackages for more information.

This is a public stable production grade release of the package: it deprecates previous releases. Please upgrade to the current release before reporting bugs.

This is the fifth public release of the OpenSS7 Master Package.

  • Staggering performance improvements. Corrections and performance tuning of the Linux Fast-STREAMS package has had performance improvements across the board in the subpackages. Linux Fast-STREAMS and its subpackages now run up to 6 times faster than before. Linux Fast-STREAMS is now running 25 times faster than the deprecated (and darn slow) LiS. See the STREAMS, UDP, TCP and SCTP performance pages for more information on this performance breakthrough.
  • Support build on openSUSE 10.2.
  • Support build on Fedora 7 and 2.6.21 kernel.
  • Support build on CentOS 5.0 (RHEL5).
  • Support build on Ubuntu 7.04.
  • Updated to gettext 0.16.1.
  • Changes to support build on 2.6.20-1.2307.fc5 and 2.6.20-1.2933.fc6 kernel.

This is the twelfth OpenSS7 Project release of Linux Fast-STREAMS. LiS was fully deprecated as of a previous release and Linux Fast-STREAMS is now the only STREAMS package contained in the OpenSS7 Master Package (since openss7-0.9.2.D).

This release is a stable, production grade release for Linux Fast-STREAMS. The release includes maintenance support for recent distributions and tool chain, but also includes some performance and feature upgrades and inspection bug fixes.

Major features since the last public release are as follows:

  • Significant performance improvements. STREAMS-based pipes in the package now perform a staggering 2 to 5 times (%200 to %500) faster than the old legacy 4.1BSD/SVR3 Linux pipes currently in the kernel. See the STREAMS Performance page for more information.
  • The impact of these performance changes is that Linux Fast-STREAMS now runs faster and looser on SMP systems: if your drivers have race conditions they will likely be exacerbated by this version.
  • Significant rework of the Stream head and both enabling and back-enabling utilities. Handling of enabling flags QWANTR and QWANTW were not being performed quite properly. Also, service procedures for the read side stream head read queue was added to defer wake-ups when possible. The result is the very significant observed performance improvements (as though it was not fast enough already).
  • The strace(8), strerr(8) utilities and log(4) driver have had some corrections. The STREAMS trace logger is now an excellent way for trace logging of fielded production drivers. A number of OpenSS7 drivers have already been converted to use this facility.
  • Significant rework of STREAMS synchronization. OSF/1 Mentat style synchronization levels, Solaris style perimeters, and SVR 4.2 style load refusal are fully supported. Some idiosyncrasies of AIX, HP-UX, MacOT and VxWorks are also supported.
  • Corrected a few bugs. See BUGS in the release for more information.
  • Supports build on Fedora Core 6.
  • Support for recent distributions and tool chains.

This is a public stable production grade release of the package: it deprecates previous releases. Please upgrade to the current release before reporting bugs.

This is the fourth public release of the OpenSS7 Master Package. See README in the release for a sub-package listing. Most of the sub-packages in the release are production grade for Linux Fast-STREAMS. All existing validation test suites run clean on supported distributions and architectures.

It is unlikely that the OpenSS7 Master Package will be released as frequently as before. Sub-packages will be released more often. To rebuild the master package with a new sub-package release, simply replace the directory to which the sub-package belongs with the unpacked sub-package release and then rebuild the master package. This release provides support for recent distributions and tool chains.

Major features since the last public release are as follows:

  • Addition of the osr61 sub-package that contains Dialogic Open System Release 6.1 version 239 GPL drivers.
  • A few minor corrections to the common build process.
  • Support for autoconf 2.61 and gettext 0.16.
  • Support for Ubuntu 6.10 distribution and bug fixes for i386 kernels.
  • The package now looks for subpackages with a version number as unpacked by separate tarball.

This is the second open source release of the OpenSS7 STREAMS SIGTRAN package. This release contains modules and drivers formerly only available with Commercial releases of the strss7 package and which are only recently available as open source with the release of this package.

With OpenSS7 Master Package release openss7-0.9.2.D, the SIGTRAN and SS7 over IP components were separated from the strss7 package and placed in this package. Not all of the SIGTRAN components previously part of the strss7 package have been strapped into this release. Components will be re-validated against Linux Fast-STREAMS on a module-by-module and driver-by-driver basis. See TODO in the release, or Schedule, in the manual, for information about the release schedule.

The major component first available is M2PA. m2pa_sl(4) is a pushable STREAMS module that is pushed over a sctp_n(4) SCTP driver Stream to form an M2PA signalling link providing the Signalling Link service interface (sli(7)). A complete test suite that tests to draft-bidulock-sigtran-m2pa-07.txt is included in the release. The historical SS7 over IP implementations are provided, but without conformance test suites. The release also contains simplified AS modules for M2UA (m2ua_as(4)), M3UA (m3ua_as(4)) that as yet do not have a conformance test suite.

Subsequent releases in 1Q 2007 will include the additional full M3UA, SUA and TUA multiplexing drivers with conformance test suites. The objective is to have these components publicly available before the SIGTRAN Interoperability test event in April 2007.

Major features since the last public release are as follows:

  • A number of SIGTRAN AS drivers (M2UA, M3UA, SUA, TUA) are present in the release (that have not been fully tested and do not have testsuites just yet). Consider these as alpha until the next release.
  • Corrections for several non-testsuite affecting bugs discovered in the M2PA module. (See BUGS in the release for more information.)
  • Improvements to the common build environment with better support for standalone package builds on 2.4 kernels.
  • Support for autoconf 2.61, automake 1.10 and gettext 0.16.
  • Support for Ubuntu 6.10 distribution and bug fixes for i386 kernels.
  • The package now looks for other subpackages with a version number as unpacked by separate tarball.

This is a stable, production grade release of M2PA for Linux Fast-STREAMS. It deprecates previous SIGTRAN component releases from the strss7 package. Please upgrade to the most current release of these components before reporting bugs.

This is the second open source release of the OpenSS7 STREAMS VOIP package. This release contains modules and drivers formerly only available with Commercial releases of the strss7 package and which are only recently available as open source with the release of this package.

With OpenSS7 Master Package release openss7-0.9.2.D, the VOIP components were separated from the strss7 package and placed in this package. Not all of the VOIP components previously part of the strss7 package have been strapped into this release. Components will be re-validated against Linux Fast-STREAMS on a module-by-module and driver-by-driver basis. See TODO in the release, or Schedule, in the manual, for information about the release schedule.

The major component first available is H.323 call control. h323(4) is a STREAMS multiplexing driver that links tcp(4) or sctp(4) streams to form an H.323 Gatekeeper.

Subsequent releases in 1Q 2007 will include the additional full H.323, SIP-T and GCP drivers with conformance test suites.

This package is currently incomplete. It is being released as a reference point for the community. If you are interested in completion of this package, contact [email protected]. This release is a maintenance release providing support for recent distributions and tool chains.

Major features since the last public release are as follows:

  • Improvements to the common build environment with better support for standalone package builds on 2.4 kernels.
  • Support for autoconf 2.61, automake 1.10 and gettext 0.16.
  • Support for Ubuntu 6.10 distribution and bug fixes for i386 kenels.
  • The package now looks for other subpackages with a version number as unpacked by separate tarball.

This is an internal release of LiS. There are too many packages now that cannot build against LiS because it is lacking fundamental capabilities in the Stream head.

Do not use this release. Port to Linux Fast-STREAMS. Do not report bugs on this release. (Yup, there are lots of 'em, but that's LiS.)

Major changes for release LiS-2.18.5

  • Added versions to all exported symbols. Made LiS functions GPL export.
  • Improvements to the common build environment with better support for standalone package builds on 2.4 kernels.
  • Support for autoconf 2.61, automake 2.10 and gettext 0.16.
  • Support for Ubuntu 6.10 distribution and bug fixes for i386 kenels.

This is an unstable public alpha release of the package. Please see README-alpha in the release. information. Do not report bugs on this package.

A large number of additional tests cases were found to fail on x86_64 and SMP architectures making the LiS packages largely unusable, especially on 64-bit or SMP kernels.

Deprecated and unmaintained. Download the latest streams package version instead.

This is the fourth public release of the OpenSS7 Master Package. The sub-packages have been reorganized for this release. See README in the release for a sub-package listing. Aside from sub-package reorganization, the major difference from previous release is that this release no longer contains LiS. Too many of the sub-packages will not even build against LiS because of its Stream head deficiencies.

Most of the sub-packages in the release are production grade for Linux Fast-STREAMS. All existing validation test suites run clean on supported distributions and architectures. The packages build better Debian/Ubuntu .deb files.

It is unlikely that the OpenSS7 Master Package will be released as frequently as before. Sub-packages will be released more often. To rebuild the master package with a new sub-package release, simply replace the directory to which the sub-package belongs with the unpacked sub-package release and then rebuild the master package.

The release provides the following enhancements and fixes:

  • Added the following sub-packages to the master build (and release):
    • strnsl-0.9.2.1
    • strbcm-0.9.2.2
    • striso-0.9.2.1
    • strsock-0.9.2.1
    • strtty-0.9.2.1
    • strutil-0.9.2.4
  • Automated release file generation making for vastly improved and timely text documentation present in the release directory.
  • This release candidate includes the changes made to the strsctp drivers at the 2006 SCTP Interop at the University of British Columbia. This version was interoperability tested with all implementations present.
  • Better support for Ubuntu and recent gcc compilers, including debian script corrections.
  • Support for most recent 2.6.18 kernels (including Fedora Core 5 with inode diet patchset).
  • Now builds 32-bit compatibility libraries, as well, and tests them against 64-bit kernel modules and drivers. The make installcheck target will now automatically test both 64-bit native and 32-bit compatibility versions, one after the other, on 64-bit platforms.
  • Added versioning of all library symbols.
  • Many documentation updates for all OpenSS7 packages. Automated release file generation making for vastly improved and timely text documentation present in the release directory.
  • Dropped support for LiS.
  • Updated init scripts for proper addition and removal of modules.
  • Start assigning majors at major device number 231 instead of major device number 230. Assign major device number 230 explicitly to the clone device. Package will now support extended ranges of minor devices on 2.6 kernels under Linux Fast-STREAMS only. streams now supports expanded addressable minor device numbers, permitting 2^16 addressable minor devices per major device number on 2.6 kernels: LiS cannot support this change.
  • Better detection of SUSE distributions, release numbers and SLES distributions: support for additional SuSE distributions on ix86 as well as x86_64. Added distribution support includes SLES 9, SLES 9 SP2, SLES 9 SP3, SLES 10, SuSE 10.1.
  • Improved compiler flag generation and optimizations for recent gcc compilers and some idiosyncratic behaviour for some distributions (primarily SUSE).
  • Optimized compilation is now available also for user level programs in addition to kernel programs. Added new --with-optimize option to `configure' to accomplish this.
  • Added --disable-devel configure option to suppress building and installing development environment. This feature is for embedded or pure runtime targets that do not need the development environment (static libraries, manual pages, documentation).
  • Added send-pr script for automatic problem report generation.
  • Each package will now build doxygen(1) html documentation with the doxy make target. See make help or README-make in the distribution for more information.

This is a public stable production grade release of the package: it deprecates previous releases. Please upgrade to the current release before reporting bugs.

This is the fourth OpenSS7 Project release of the NETPERF Utility package. This release is a stable, production grade release for Linux Fast-STREAMS and is part of the OpenSS7 Master Package (openss7-0.9.2.D).

This release is primarily a maintenance release that provides support for more distributions and architectures as well as tracking feature updates on related packages.

The release provides the following enhancements and fixes:

  • Updates to permit use with strinet-0.9.2.4 second generation UDP driver, strsctp-0.9.2.6 STREAMS SCTP driver, sctp-0.2.24 Sockets SCTP driver.
  • Includes workup of benchmark scripts for SCTP, TCP and UDP. Added a scls_show option to perform scls -c (see scls(1)) to show STREAMS module and driver statistics between test sample points when verbosity is set to 2 and XTI is being used. This assists with performance testing as it shows the counts accumulated to put and service routine throughout the Stream. It was used in UDP2 testing of the strinet package and will come in handy for the SCTP testing.
  • Includes results of performance testing of the new second generation UDP driver (implemented completely in STREAMS instead of using an internal socket).

This is the initial open source release of the OpenSS7 STREAMS ISDN package. This release contains modules and drivers formerly only available with Commercial releases of the `strss7' package and which are only recently available as open source with the release of this package.

With OpenSS7 Master Package release openss7-0.9.2.D, the ISDN components were separated from the `strss7' package and placed in this package. Not all of the ISDN components previously part of the `strss7' package have been strapped into this release. Components will be re-validated against Linux Fast-STREAMS on a module-by-module and driver-by-driver basis. See TODO in the release, or `Schedule', in the manual, for information about the release schedule.

In this initial release, the major component first available is LAPD. lapd(4) is a pushable STREAMS module that is pushed over a cdi(4) HDLC channel to form an ISDN Q.931 link providing the Data Link Provider Interface (dlpi(7)). A complete test suite will be available in a further release.

Subsequent releases in 1Q 2007 will include the additional full ISDN Q.931, Q.933, GR-303 and V5.2 drivers with conformance test suites.

This package is currently incomplete. It is being released as a reference point for the community. If you are interested in completion of this package, contact [email protected].

The release provides the following enhancements and fixes:

  • Additional features supported in all packages (see master package release notes).

The OpenSS7 SS7 Stack package contains a wide array of SS7, SIGTRAN, ISDN and VoIP drivers and components for Linux Fast-STREAMS. This is the public release package which has most of the components removed. Subscribers and sponsors of the OpenSS7 Project have access to the full array of components.

This is the fifth release of the OpenSS7 SS7 Stack strss7 package that contains SS7 (Signalling System No. 7), SIGTRAN (SIGnalling TRANsport), ISDN (Integrated Services Digital Network) and VoIP (Void over Internet Protocol) signalling stack components for Linux Fast-STREAMS. The package contains the necessary header files, manual pages and other documentation for SS7/SIGTRAN/ISDN/VoIP components in a separate autoconf tarball.

This release is primarily to support recent compilers, kernels and distributions, and to upgrade the X400P-SS7 driver with support for the Varion V401P (Tormenta III) cards. Also, this is the first release that has ISDN, SIGTRAN and VoIP components moved to separate packages (but will still build all components).

The release provides the following enhancements and fixes:

  • The X400P-SS7 driver has been upgraded to support the Varion V401P (Tormenta III) card. This driver passes all validation test suites and is production grade. The driver still supports the older cards. Also, an autoconf style validation test suite was added and the test-x400p test case executable upgraded.
  • Additional features supported in all packages (see master package release notes).

This is a public stable production grade release of the package: it deprecates previous releases. Please upgrade to the current release before reporting bugs.

This is the initial open source release of the OpenSS7 STREAMS SIGTRAN package. This release contains modules and drivers formerly only available with Commercial releases of the `strss7' package and which are only recently available as open source with the release of this package.

With OpenSS7 Master Package release openss7-0.9.2.D, the SIGTRAN and SS7 over IP components were separated from the `strss7' package and placed in this package. Not all of the SIGTRAN components previously part of the `strss7' package have been strapped into this release. Components will be re-validated against Linux Fast-STREAMS on a module-by-module and driver-by-driver basis. See TODO in the release, or `Schedule', in the manual, for information about the release schedule.

In this initial release, the major component first available is M2PA. m2pa_sl(4) is a pushable STREAMS module that is pushed over a sctp_n(4) SCTP driver Stream to form an M2PA signalling link providing the Signalling Link service interface (sli(7)).

The release provides the following enhancements and fixes:

  • Additional features supported in all packages (see master package release notes).

This is a public stable production grade release of the package for Linux Fast-STREAMS: it deprecates previous releases from the `strss7' package. Please upgrade to the current release these components before reporting bugs.

This version of SCTP for Linux Fast-STREAMS was taken to the 10th SCTP Interop event at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada and tested between July 30th, 2006 and August 4th, 2006. Testing consisted of interoperability testing between the OpenSS7 STREAMS implementation and implementations from Cisco, IBM, Motorola, Nokia, Emerson (Artesyn), Univ. of Essen, and Univ. of Munich implementations, yeilding no interoperability issues for the OpenSS7 implementation.

Preliminary performance testing was performed on the last day and we successfully transfered 0.72 Gbps of data to the OpenSS7 implementation with a non-optimized build (-O0). Additional performance testing using dual GigE interfaces will be performed over the next weeks.

The STREAMS SCTP implementation was tested using Linux Fast-STREAMS (streams-0.7a.5rc3) and STREAMS SCTP (strsctp-0.9.2.6rc3) on 3.0GHz Intel 630 HT and 2.57 GHz Intel PIV systems running Fedora Core 5 and the latest 2.6.17 kernel.

This is the OpenSS7 Project's third separate release of the OpenSS7 STREAMS Compatibility Modules that were formerly present in the Linux Fast-STREAMS streams-0.7a.2 release package. These compatibility modules provide source level compatibility with AIX, HPUX, OSF/1, MacOT, Mentat, SUX, Solaris, SUPER/UX, IRIX, LiS, UnixWare, UXP/V and SVR 4.2 STREAMS. The package contains all the necessary manual pages and other documentation in an autoconf tarball.

This release is primarily to support additional compilers (gcc 4.0.2), architectures (x86_64, SMP, 32-bit compatibility), recent Linux distributions (EL4, SuSE 10, LE2006, OpenSuSE) and kernels (2.6.15). It includes:

  • Corrections for and testing of 64-bit clean compile and test runs on x86_64 architecture. Some bug corrections resulting from gcc 4.0.2 compiler warnings.
  • Changes to satisfy gcc 4.0.2 compiler.
  • Corrected build flags for Gentoo and 2.6.15 kernels as reported on mailing list.
  • Initial corrections for and testing of SMP operation on Intel 630 Hyper-Threaded SMP on x86_64. This package should now run well on N-way Xeons even with Hyper-Threading enabled.
  • Corrections and validation of 32-bit compatibility over 64-bit on x86_64. Should apply well to other 64-bit architectures as well.

This is public beta test release of the package: it deprecates previous releases. Please upgrade before reporting problems with previous releases.

Deprecated. Download the latest strcompat package version above instead.

This is the second fully functioning OpenSS7 Project public release of Linux Fast-STREAMS, the high-performance reimplementation of SVR 4.2 MP STREAMS for Linux. This release is a beta release and has been extensively tested and is mostly stable. The purpose of the release is to provide the community with the ability to try the code and documentation. Later releases will include any fixes or missing functionality.

This release has been performance tested (see the results) and conformance tested (see the results) and tested in comparison with LiS. Linux Fast-STREAMS> far exceeds LiS in every dimension. Linux Fast-STREAMS is upt to seven (7) times faster, one eighth (1/8) the size, and conforms far better to POSIX/SUSv3 standards. Linux Fast-STREAMS is already more stable that LiS on 64-bit, SMP kernels, and SMP platforms, and does not lock up on UP kernel where LiS does.

This release is primarily to support additional compilers (gcc 4.0.2), architectures (x86_64, SMP, 32-bit compatibility), recent Linux distributions (EL4, SuSE 10, LE2006, OpenSuSE) and kernels (2.6.15). It includes:

  • Changes to wait queues. Split single wait queue into four independent wait queues. Reworked wait queues for both old style (2.4) and new style (2.6) semantics.
  • Changes to satisfy gcc 4.0.2 compiler.
  • Corrections for and testing of 64-bit clean compile and test runs on x86_64 architecture. Some bug corrections resulting from gcc 4.0.2 compiler warnings.
  • Corrected build flags for Gentoo and 2.6.15 kernels as reported on mailing list.
  • Build and run tested on FC4 i686 and x86_64 kernels based on 2.6.15.

The LiS 2.18.3 release is the OpenSS7 Project's most recent release of the Linux 2.4 and 2.6 kernel compatible package. It includes libraries, documentation and all the things needed to run STREAMS for OpenSS7 SS7 packages and other LiS based products.

This release provides:

  • Corrections for and testing of 64-bit clean compile and test runs on x86_64 architecture.
  • Some bug corrections resulting from gcc 4.0.2 compiler warnings.
  • Corrected build flags for Gentoo and 2.6.15 kernels as reported on mailing list. Builds on FC4 2.6.15 kernel and with gcc 4.0.2.
  • Added in many of Paul's 64-bit corrections.

This is an unstable public alpha release of the package. Please see README-alpha in the release.

This release, as the release before it, suppresses versioning of LiS exported symbols and restores to a large degree binary compatibility of interface functions with LiS 2.18.0. It again contains the pipe performance programs an POSIX conformance test suite used with Linux Fast-STREAMS for comparison testing between LiS and Linux Fast-STREAMS. These programs were used to generate the comparison performance test results and conformance test results.

A large number of additional tests cases were found to fail on x86_64 and SMP architectures making the LiS packages largely unusable, especially on 64-bit or SMP kernels.

Deprecated and unmaintained. Download the latest streams package version instead.

All kernel symbols exported by LiS are versioned on kernels that have versioned symbols. This makes it safer to compile kernel modules against kernel/LiS combinations. This is in preparation for splitting off the strxnet package, and the technique was imported from the Linux Fast-STREAMS build. See ChangeLog and NEWS in the release for more information.

This is a Linux Native Kernel release for the Linux SCTP kernel implementation of RFC 2960. The release is in the form of a patch on the Linux 2.4.18, 2.4.19, 2.4.20, 2.4.21 and 2.4.22 kernels, and includes man pages and documentation. In addition, it is release as an SRPM and RPMS for popular PC processors. Check the rpms directory for binary RPM releases.

The OpenSS7 implementation of SCTP implements all of the SCTP functionality, implements ADD-IP and PR-SCTP and uses a socket interface similar in some respects to current TSVWG drafts concerning sockets and SCTP.

This is very functional code, and has been banged on for over a year. This code is quite stable, but still may have some bugs which might crash or lock your machine in certain circumstances. This latest release provide bug fixes and performance improvements. See the SCTP Performance page for more information.

We will be taking the most current release to the SCTP Interop in July, 2004.

We got tired of trying to stabilize LiS loads, so we autoconf'ed it, rpm'ed it, added an XTI/TLI library that works, a tirdwr module that works, timod module that works, fixed tihdr and timod header files, pulled strinet into the build, added in the manual pages, added --help and --version options to all the utilities, ...

This release will greatly simplify loading LiS for those that don't want to recompile kernels (or recompile anything for that matter). For RedHat rpms and the SRPM, look through our RPM directories. But you can build RPMS from these tarballs with "rpmbuild -vv -tb LiS-2.16.16-1.tar.gz".

Yup, it's that easy.

This code is rock solid. You should be able to load and run it against LiS 2.13.17/Linux 2.4.x SP/SMP with no problems.

Dec 11, 2001 0.7.8 Alpha Release strss7-0.7.8.tgz
strss7-0.7.8.tgz.asc
752705
This is a stable release of the SS7 MTP2 SL, SDT, SDL and M2PA/SCTP with integrated SCTP stack. This is the first SIGTRAN release based on the OpenSS7 STREAMS SCTP implementation. The SCTP stack (released separately, below) is included and a test program (test-m2pa) confirming 73 Q.781 conformance test cases is also provided. This is an M2PA implementation based on the upcoming draft-ietf-sigtran-m2pa-04.txt which includes acknowledgements and status Out-Of-Service. Also included, in the release is draft-bidulock-sigtran-m2patest-00.txt which provides details of the conformance test cases to which the OpenSS7 M2PA implementation conforms.

This code is quite solid. You should be able to load and run it against LiS 2.10/Linux 2.2.x with no problems.

Nov 29, 2001 0.7.5 Beta Release strsctp-0.7.6.tgz

This is an LiS STREAMS Beta release for the STREAMS SCTP kernel implemntation of RFC 2960. This is quite stable code and has been bashed on a fair while. (See the included test programs for a rigorous workout.) It implements almost all of the SCTP functionality (except hostname and IPv6) and provides a Network Provider Interface (NPI) and Transport Provider Interface (TPI) suitable for use with XOpen XNS/XTI 5.2. The NPI is the interface that is being used for the OpenSS7 SIGTRAN components.

This code is (dare I say) rock solid. You should be able to load and run it against LiS 2.10/Linux 2.2.x with no problems.

This is a Linux Native Kernel development snapshot for the Linux SCTP kernel implementation of RFC 2960. This is mostly functional code, but it has some nasty bugs which will still crash or lock your machine occasionally. It implements almost all of the SCTP functionality and uses a socket interface similar in some respects to current TSVWG drafts concerning sockets and SCTP.

This code is kinda stable, but still has some nasty bugs which will crash or lock your machine in certain circumstances. This release is being posted to permit those interested in Linux Kernel SCTP implementations to take a look at the code. Make sure you know what you are doing before trying to run this code.

Deprecated. Dowload the latest sctp package version above instead.

Feb 18, 2001 0.7.4 Pre-Release 2 strss7-0.7.4.tgz
strss7-0.7.4.tgz.asc

This is a STREAMS development snapshot. This is partially working code. Portions which are working are the SDL UDP SS7 link emulation, the SDL module, SDT module, and SL module. This compiles and runs nicely on Linux 2.2.14 running LiS STREAMS 2.10.

Additions to this pre-release include bug fixes to and testing of the SL, SDT, SDL and SDLUDP modules and drivers, as well as the addition of a Q.781 test program. The SDLUDP driver passes 97 of 107 test cases (10 "break Tx" cases inconclusive) and demonstrates comformance to Q.781. You can view the output of the Q.781 test program here.

Sorry, I mistakenly imported some errors when attaching headers to the files in that previous tar-ball. The offending lines are '#include "head.h"' Those can just be removed or you can download this copy.

I got some request for the ISUP message parsers which I wrote some years ago. This is LGPL code. It is pretty stable. It might have some memory leaks. There is no warranty. I will have to figure out how to work this back into the main body of the work later. Please contibute changes or improvements.

This is a development snapshot. This is not working code. Do not expect us to discuss compiler warnings or to make corrections to this code at this time. It has probably changed before you even downloaded it. If you want to contribute, send us mail.

Deprecated. Here for historical purposes only.
